South Africa at the KUE
This week the two year 4 classes and some teachers got a bit of a taste of South African culture as two Pantsula dancers from a township in Johannesburg showed us how to ‘take a taxi to Johannesburg’ as the dance we learned was called. We danced a lot and tried to move our feet very quickly and could ask Teboho and Tshidiso about topics like apartheid, gender roles, life in the townships, South African English and the other 10 official languages of South Africa. – We also learned that South Africans like cheese just like we do and would love to take Raclette back home.
